The whole program is a little complicated and a little expensive, but if it pays oo the way we’re hoping, it’ll be worth it. The in-furrow is just the beginning. One of the programs, recommended by an agronomist we trust, includes three foliar treatments on top of it — the first with the ground sprayer, the last two with the drone. There may be a fungicide application in there too; we’ll see how the season goes. That initial in-furrow mix had about five products in it, around five gallons per acre with just a little water. A calcium product, a dry micronutrient, a biological that came in a jug, and a couple of high-volume products If you don’t know by now, we kind of like to do on-farm research and dig into what it really takes to produce a good crop. This year, we’ve got some test plots of biologicals out in the field. Biologicals are hard to pin down — it’s tough to know whether they’ll deliver real value. Our approach right now is applying them in-furrow. When Time Isn’t Your Friend
